Casco Aluminum-Clad Double-Hung Replacement Kits, also known as sash packs, provide a sash-and-jamb-liner replacement option for compatible existing wood double-hung window frames. They are commonly used when the existing frame can remain in place and the project needs new operating sashes, updated weatherstripping, improved glass options, and exterior aluminum-clad protection without replacing the full window frame.

Remodeling a home economically does not have to mean giving up quality, daylight, or the original character of the window opening. Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits are designed to replace worn-out sashes and balance/jamb-liner components while preserving the existing wood frame when field conditions allow.

Replace the sash system while preserving the existing frame.

Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits are designed to update compatible existing wood double-hung frames with new aluminum-clad sashes, pine wood interiors, jamb liners, balances, weatherstripping, and available glass and grille options.

Replacement Kit Overview: A double-hung replacement kit is different from a full replacement window. The existing wood frame remains in place, and the old sashes and balance system are replaced with new sashes, jamb liners, balances, weatherstripping, and related sash-kit components. This can help preserve interior and exterior trim, maintain more visible glass area than many pocket-style insert windows, and reduce disruption when the existing frame is suitable for reuse.

Double-Hung Replacement Kit Highlights

Sash-Pack Replacement

Replacement kits update compatible existing double-hung frames with new operating sashes and jamb liner components while keeping the existing frame in place when field conditions allow.

Preserves More Glass Area

Unlike many pocket replacement windows, a sash kit does not add a full new window frame inside the existing opening. This helps preserve more visible glass area, natural daylight, and the original look of the window opening.

Aluminum-Clad Exterior

Each kit includes new sashes with heavy-duty extruded aluminum-clad exterior protection and pine wood interiors, combining low-maintenance exterior performance with a traditional wood interior appearance.

Optional Storm Window Pairing

For projects where the existing opening needs additional exterior protection, improved comfort, sound reduction, or a more complete upgrade without full-frame replacement, Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits can also be paired with Casco aluminum storm windows.

Pairing a replacement kit with a storm window may be reviewed when the project needs an added secondary window layer, exterior weather protection, improved draft control, sound reduction, additional glass options, or a lower-disruption alternative to full window replacement.

Storm windows are selected separately and should be reviewed based on the existing exterior opening, sill condition, drainage path, mounting surface, sound-control goals, and project requirements. Review Casco Aluminum Storm Windows for available storm window models and options.

Why Homeowners and Contractors Use Replacement Kits

Less Disruption

Because the existing frame remains in place, a replacement kit can reduce demolition, trim disruption, and installation labor compared with full-frame replacement when the existing opening is suitable to reuse.

Glass Package Options

Casco replacement kits are available with insulated glass and LoĒ glass package options. The correct glass package should be selected based on project energy requirements, climate zone, exposure, and applicable code requirements.

Warranty Coverage

Casco replacement kits include applicable product warranty coverage, including the Cardinal 20-year insulating glass warranty where applicable. Final fit, installation, existing frame condition, and sash-to-frame performance are handled by the installing party.

Is a Double-Hung Replacement Kit the Right Fit?

A double-hung replacement kit may be a good option when the existing wood frame is in good condition and the project does not require full-frame replacement. The existing frame, sill, exterior trim, interior trim, opening condition, water management, and installation conditions must be reviewed before ordering.

If the existing frame is rotted, out of square, leaking, damaged, poorly installed, or otherwise unsuitable for reuse, a full window replacement may be the better product direction. For complete window units, review Casco Aluminum-Clad Double-Hung Windows.

The ordering party and installer are responsible for confirming that the replacement kit is appropriate for the existing frame condition, measurements, installation method, and project requirements.

Project Fit

Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits are commonly used for remodel, replacement, historic-style, and sash-only upgrade projects where the existing wood frame is suitable to remain in place. They can be a practical alternative to full window replacement or pocket-style insert windows when preserving trim, reducing demolition, and maintaining visible glass area are important project goals.

Kit size, existing frame condition, measuring method, glass package, grille pattern, exterior color, interior finish, installation method, and project energy requirements should be reviewed before ordering.

For full double-hung window replacement, review Casco Aluminum-Clad Double-Hung Windows. For compatible casement, awning, or picture window sash-only applications, review Casco Replacement Casement Sashes.

For projects needing an added secondary exterior window layer, added sound reduction, or additional weather protection, review Casco Aluminum Storm Windows as a separate product option that may be paired with a replacement kit when the existing opening and project requirements allow.

  • Double-Hung Replacement Kit Glass

Casco Aluminum-Clad Double-Hung Replacement Kits are available with multiple insulated glass, LoĒ glass, specialty glass, privacy glass, and laminated glass options. Glass Notes

Glass Selection Note: The base glass configuration is clear insulated glass. LoĒ glass packages are available when the project needs improved glass performance, solar control, lower U-factor, glare control, or other project-specific glass performance. Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits are sash-pack components installed into existing frames and are not rated fenestration products or full window units. Because they are replacement parts rather than complete rated window assemblies, they are typically not required to meet the same energy-code requirements as a new rated fenestration product. However, code requirements vary by project and location, and confirmation should be made with the local governing code enforcement authority where required. Glass ratings and glass performance information may be used to assist with glass selection, but glass ratings are not the same as a complete window product rating. The customer, dealer, contractor, architect, builder, or project team is responsible for confirming the selected glass package and replacement kit approach before ordering.

    Glass Basics

    Base Glass Configuration

The base glass configuration for Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits is clear insulated glass. This base configuration may be used when the project does not require a specific Low-E package and the applicable energy requirements allow it.

Clear glass allows strong visible light, but it does not provide the same solar control, UV protection, or U-factor performance as LoĒ glass packages. When a project has a local energy code requirement or a specific U-factor, SHGC, or performance target, a LoĒ glass package may be reviewed.

Glass Ratings & Replacement Kit Status

    • Double-Hung Replacement Kits are sash-pack components, not complete window units.
    • Replacement kits are not rated fenestration products and do not have full product U-factor, SHGC, VT, or NFRC-style full unit performance ratings.
    • Glass ratings and glass performance values may be available for the selected insulated glass package, including glass-only U-value, SHGC, visible transmittance, UV performance, and other glass-package data where applicable.
    • Glass ratings are not the same as a complete window product rating. They should be used as a glass-selection reference only.
    • Because replacement kits are parts installed into an existing frame, they are typically not required to meet the same energy-code requirements as a new rated fenestration product.
    • Code requirements vary by project, location, permit status, and local interpretation. Confirmation should be made with the local governing code enforcement authority where required.
    • Installed performance depends on the selected glass, existing frame condition, measurements, installation method, air sealing, and field conditions.
    • The customer, dealer, contractor, architect, builder, or project team must confirm whether the selected glass package and replacement kit approach satisfy the project requirements before ordering.

    Glass Performance Terms

    • U-factor measures heat flow. A lower U-factor means better resistance to heat loss.
    • SHGC measures how much solar radiation enters as heat. A lower SHGC helps reduce solar heat gain.
    • Visible Transmittance measures how much visible light passes through the glass. A higher visible transmittance means more daylight.
    • UV transmission relates to fading protection. Lower UV transmission helps reduce fading potential for furniture, flooring, fabrics, artwork, and interior finishes.
    • Glare control reduces harsh visible light in direct sun conditions.
    • Privacy control can be handled through obscure glass when the project needs privacy while still allowing light into the room.

    LoĒ Glass Options

    Dual Pane LoĒ Glass Options

Cardinal Quad LoĒ-452+ glass for Casco double-hung replacement kits

Cardinal Neat+ naturally cleaner glass coating

    Quad LoĒ-452+ with Neat+ - Dual Pane

Quad LoĒ-452+ is Cardinal’s four-layer silver coating option for projects that need strong solar control, a neutral appearance, and useful visible light. It is commonly selected for hot, sunny exposures where reducing solar heat gain is a priority without moving to a darker glare-control appearance.

Quad LoĒ-452+ has an SHGC of 0.22, visible light transmittance of 52%, and 99% UV blocking based on Cardinal’s published glass data. It is designed to provide strong solar control while maintaining a clear, neutral appearance.

Neat+ is included as standard on Quad LoĒ-452+ glass. Neat+ is an exterior glass coating that helps the glass stay naturally cleaner and clean easier by using sunlight and rain to reduce dirt buildup.

Common Use: Hot, sunny exposures where the project needs lower solar heat gain, strong fade protection, a neutral glass appearance, and the added benefit of Neat+ naturally cleaner glass.

Cardinal LoĒ3-366 glass for Casco double-hung replacement kits

    LoĒ3-366® - Dual Pane

LoĒ3-366® is commonly selected when the project needs a balanced high-performance Low-E option with strong energy performance, solar control, UV protection, and clear appearance.

Common Use: All-around Low-E performance where the project needs energy performance while maintaining a clear appearance.

Cardinal LoĒ3-340+ glass for Casco double-hung replacement kits

    LoĒ3-340+ - Dual Pane

LoĒ3-340+ is commonly selected where glare and solar heat gain are the main concerns. It is often used for direct sun exposures, hot exposures, and rooms where glare control matters.

Common Use: Openings with stronger sun exposure where glare control and lower solar heat gain are priorities.

Cardinal LoĒ-i89 glass for Casco double-hung replacement kits

    LoĒ-i89 Combinations - Dual Pane

LoĒ-i89 is an interior surface coating used when additional U-factor improvement is needed. It reflects interior heat back into the room and is commonly selected for improved winter thermal performance, northern climates, and stricter U-factor requirements.

This is typically required when a customer needs a U-value of 0.30 or less, depending on the selected kit configuration and applicable project requirements.

Common Use: LoĒ3-366® with LoĒ-i89 or Quad LoĒ-452+ with LoĒ-i89 when the project needs both exterior solar control and improved interior-side thermal performance.

    Triple Pane LoĒ Glass Options

Cardinal LoĒ3-366 with LoĒ-180 triple pane glass for Casco double-hung replacement kits

    LoĒ3-366® with LoĒ-180™ - Triple Pane

Triple pane LoĒ3-366® with LoĒ-180™ is available when the project requires additional glass performance beyond standard dual pane configurations.

Common Use: Applications requiring higher-performance glass packages or additional project review.

    Specialty Glass Options

    Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is available for Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits. Laminated glass can be ordered with the same Cardinal LoĒ glass options when the project requires laminated glass along with a specific Low-E package.

Laminated glass is commonly reviewed when the project requires added safety, sound control, security considerations, impact resistance considerations, or project-specific glass requirements. The correct laminated glass configuration should be reviewed with the required Cardinal LoĒ coating, glass performance requirements, sash size, project location, and applicable code requirements before ordering.

    Obscure Glass

Obscure glass is available for Double-Hung Replacement Kits. It is commonly used in bathrooms, mud rooms, utility areas, and other locations where privacy is needed while still allowing light into the room.

    Glass Selection Notes

    • Clear insulated glass is the base glass configuration.
    • LoĒ options may be selected when the project needs improved glass performance, lower U-factor, solar control, glare control, or other project-specific performance improvements.
    • Quad LoĒ-452+ with Neat+ is commonly used for strong solar control, neutral appearance, lower solar heat gain, fade protection, and naturally cleaner exterior glass.
    • LoĒ3-366® is commonly used for balanced energy performance and clear appearance.
    • LoĒ3-340+ is commonly used for direct sun and glare control.
    • LoĒ-i89 combinations are commonly used for improved winter thermal performance, northern climates, and lower U-factor requirements.
    • Triple pane LoĒ3-366® with LoĒ-180™ is available when the project requires additional glass performance beyond standard dual pane configurations.
    • Laminated glass is available with the same Cardinal LoĒ options.
    • Specialty glass options must be checked against size limits, glass package availability, lead time, and project performance requirements.
    • Replacement kits are sash-pack components, not rated fenestration products, and do not have full product U-factor, SHGC, VT, or complete unit energy ratings.
    • Glass ratings may be used as a reference for selecting the insulated glass package, but they are not the same as a full window product rating.
    • Because replacement kits are parts installed into an existing frame, they are typically not required to meet the same energy-code requirements as a new rated fenestration product.
    • Confirmation should be made with the local governing code enforcement authority where required.
    • The customer, dealer, contractor, architect, builder, or project team must confirm which glass package and replacement kit approach is appropriate before ordering.

Important SDL Note: For Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits, SDL grilles use exterior and interior applied grilles only. An internal grille between the glass is not available with SDL grilles on this product. SDL grilles also require the insulated glass unit to change from a 3/4" overall IGU to a 5/8" overall IGU.

    Internal Grilles

Internal grilles, also called grilles between the glass, are sealed between the panes of insulated glass. This provides a divided-lite appearance while keeping the interior and exterior glass surfaces easier to clean.

Internal grilles are commonly selected when the project needs a grille pattern without exposed exterior or interior grille bars.

All internal grilles are available in two-tone finishes, with the exterior color of the grille matched to the selected window color and white on the interior to coordinate with painted interior finishes.

Internal grilles are not available when SDL grilles are selected on Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits.

    SDL Grilles

Simulated Divided Lite (SDL) grilles are applied to the exterior and interior glass surfaces to create a more traditional divided-lite appearance. SDL grilles provide more visible grille profile detail than grilles between the glass.

Double-Hung Replacement Kit SDL Note: When SDL grilles are used on Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits, only the exterior and interior applied grille bars are used. An internal grille between the glass is not available with SDL grilles on this product.

Glass Package Note: SDL grilles require the insulated glass unit to change from a 3/4" overall IGU to a 5/8" overall IGU. This glass package change should be reviewed before ordering because it may affect configuration, availability, and project requirements.

    Interior Removable Wood Grilles

Interior removable wood grilles are available where the project requires a traditional interior grille appearance. These grilles are mounted on the room side of the sash and can be removed from the interior side when needed.

Interior removable wood grilles should be reviewed based on interior finish, grille pattern, sash size, and project design requirements.

Confirm the existing frame is in good condition, reasonably square, properly supported, and suitable for reuse. The sill, side jambs, head jamb, exterior trim, interior trim, water management, and previous repairs should be reviewed before ordering.

If the existing frame is rotted, damaged, out of square, leaking, poorly installed, or otherwise unsuitable for reuse, review Casco Aluminum-Clad Double-Hung Windows as a complete window-unit replacement option.

    Measurement Note

Review the measurement locations carefully before quoting or ordering. Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits use a product-specific measuring method because the kit is installed into the existing wood frame. For height, measure from the inside wood of the head pocket down to the point where the front plane of the bottom sash meets the sill. This is the front-plane sash-to-sill dimension, not a back-of-sill pocket window dimension.

    Measuring for Double-Hung Replacement Kits

See the diagrams below for how to measure for a new Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kit. Both the smallest opening width and the smallest opening height should be used to quote or order Casco’s Double-Hung Replacement Kit. For the height, measure from the inside wood of the head pocket to the point where the front plane of the bottom sash meets the sill.

    • Measure the opening width in multiple locations using the Casco replacement kit measuring method.
    • Use the smallest opening width for quoting or ordering.
    • Measure the opening height in multiple locations using the Casco replacement kit measuring method shown below.
    • For height, measure from the inside wood of the head pocket to the point where the front plane of the bottom sash meets the sill.
    • Use the front-plane sash-to-sill height dimension, not a back-of-sill pocket window dimension.
    • Use the smallest required opening height for quoting or ordering.
    • Measurements should be confirmed by the party responsible for ordering and installation.
    • Do not assume the existing frame is square or consistent across the full opening.

    Product Configuration Notes

    • Clear insulated glass is the base glass configuration.
    • LoĒ glass packages are available when the project needs improved glass performance, lower U-factor, solar control, glare control, UV protection, or other project-specific performance improvements.
    • Replacement kits are not rated fenestration products or complete rated window assemblies.
    • Glass ratings may be used as a glass-selection reference, but they are not the same as a complete window product rating.
    • Standard exterior colors are available; glazing bead finish limitations should be reviewed before ordering.
    • For volume orders, custom exterior colors with matching glazing beads may be quoted by project review.
    • Screens are not included as a standard kit component. Made-to-order replacement screens may be reviewed separately.
    • Storm windows are separate products and may be reviewed when the project needs added exterior protection, sound reduction, or a secondary window layer.
    • Replacement kit sizing should follow the Casco measuring method shown above, with special attention to the height measurement from the inside wood of the head pocket to the front-plane sash-to-sill point.

    Fit, Installation, and Responsibility Notes

Casco provides a Double-Hung Replacement Kit option for compatible existing wood double-hung frames. The ordering party and installer are responsible for confirming that the product is appropriate for the existing opening before ordering.

    • Casco does not provide a new full window frame with the replacement kit.
    • Casco does not guarantee existing frame condition.
    • Casco does not confirm final fit based only on photos or dimensions.
    • The ordering party and installer must confirm measurements before ordering.
    • The ordering party and installer must confirm that the correct replacement kit measuring locations were used.
    • The ordering party and installer must confirm the height was measured to the front-plane sash-to-sill point, not to the back of the sill.
    • The installer is responsible for installation, adjustment, sash-to-frame fit, seal, final operation, and field performance after installation.
    • Existing frame condition, out-of-square openings, water damage, rot, previous repairs, or improper installation can affect final fit and performance.
    • Local code requirements vary by project and location. Confirmation should be made with the local governing code enforcement authority where required.

    Replacement Kit Basics

What is a Double-Hung Replacement Kit?

A Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kit is a sash-pack replacement system for compatible existing wood double-hung window frames. The kit replaces the old operating sashes and balance / jamb-liner system while the existing frame remains in place.

Replacement kits are commonly used when the project needs updated sashes, improved weatherstripping, available glass upgrades, and exterior aluminum-clad protection without replacing the full window frame.

Is a replacement kit the same as a full window?

No. A replacement kit is not a complete window unit. It is a parts / sash-pack product installed into an existing frame. For a complete window unit, review Casco Aluminum-Clad Double-Hung Windows.

Why use a replacement kit instead of a pocket replacement window?

A sash-pack replacement kit can help preserve more visible glass area because it does not add a full new insert window frame inside the existing opening. This can help maintain more daylight and a cleaner appearance when the existing frame is suitable for reuse.

When is a Double-Hung Replacement Kit a good option?

A replacement kit may be a good option when the existing wood frame is structurally sound, reasonably square, properly installed, and suitable to remain in place. It is often reviewed for remodel, replacement, historic-style, and lower-disruption sash-only upgrade projects.

When should a full window replacement be reviewed instead?

A full window replacement should be reviewed when the existing frame is rotted, damaged, out of square, leaking, poorly installed, missing required components, or otherwise unsuitable for reuse. For complete window-unit replacement, review Casco Aluminum-Clad Double-Hung Windows.

    Fit, Measuring, and Ordering Responsibility

Who is responsible for confirming the kit will fit?

The ordering party and installer are responsible for confirming the replacement kit is appropriate for the existing frame, measurements, opening condition, installation method, and project requirements. Casco provides a replacement sash-kit option for customers to purchase, but the field fit must be confirmed by the party ordering and installing the product.

Can Casco confirm fit based on photos or dimensions?

No. Photos and dimensions can be helpful for the ordering party, dealer, contractor, or installer during their own review, but Casco does not confirm or guarantee that a replacement kit will fit based only on photos or dimensions. The ordering party and installer must complete the final review before ordering.

What should be checked before ordering?

The existing frame should be reviewed for condition, squareness, sill condition, water management, trim condition, frame damage, rot, previous repairs, measurements, installation method, and whether the frame can accept the replacement kit components.

Review the How to Order section for ordering details.

    How is the height measured?

For height, measure from the inside wood of the head pocket down to the point where the front plane of the bottom sash meets the sill. This is the front-plane sash-to-sill dimension and should be confirmed using the Casco measuring diagrams in the How to Order section.

Are the replacement kits custom sized?

Yes. Replacement kits can be ordered in custom sizes within product and project limits. The ordering party must provide the correct measurements and confirm the selected size is appropriate for the existing frame and installation method.

    Does Casco provide installation labor?

No. Installation labor, field measuring, removal of existing components, field adjustments, finishing, and final fit are not included with the replacement kit. These items are handled by the dealer, contractor, installer, or ordering party.

    What’s Included and Not Included

What is included with a Double-Hung Replacement Kit?

A typical kit includes new aluminum-clad upper and lower replacement sashes, pine wood interior sash surfaces, clear insulated glass as the base glass configuration, replacement-style compression jamb liners, a cam-action sash lock, a new vinyl head parting stop, installation clips, and fasteners.

Review the Features section for full details.

    What is not included?

A new full window frame is not included. Exterior casing, sill, stool, apron, interior trim, exterior trim, frame repairs, installation labor, field verification, finishing labor, final fit adjustments, and screens are not included as standard kit components.

    Are screens included?

No. Screens are not included as a standard kit component. Made-to-order replacement screens may be reviewed when needed. Existing screens may remain if they are suitable and compatible with the project.

Glass, Glass Ratings, and Code Status

    What glass comes standard?

The base glass configuration is clear insulated glass. LoĒ glass packages are available when the project needs improved glass performance, lower U-factor, solar control, glare control, UV protection, or other project-specific performance improvements.

What LoĒ glass options are available?

Available glass options include dual pane Quad LoĒ-452+ with Neat+, LoĒ3-366®, LoĒ3-340+, LoĒ-i89 combinations, and triple pane LoĒ3-366® with LoĒ-180™ where available and appropriate for the project.

Review the Glass section for glass option details.

Are Double-Hung Replacement Kits rated fenestration products?

No. Double-Hung Replacement Kits are sash-pack components installed into existing frames. They are not rated fenestration products or complete rated window assemblies and do not have full product U-factor, SHGC, VT, or NFRC-style full unit performance ratings.

    What are glass ratings?

Glass ratings and glass performance values may be available for the selected insulated glass package. These may include glass-only U-value, SHGC, visible transmittance, UV performance, and other glass-package data where applicable.

Glass ratings are not the same as a complete window product rating. They should be used as a glass-selection reference only.

Do replacement kits have to meet energy code?

Because replacement kits are parts installed into an existing frame, they are typically not required to meet the same energy-code requirements as a new rated fenestration product. However, code requirements vary by project, location, permit status, and local interpretation. Confirmation should be made with the local governing code enforcement authority where required.

    Is laminated glass available?

Yes. Laminated glass is available and can be paired with the same Cardinal LoĒ glass options where available and where the selected sash size and project requirements allow.

Are CLiC glass or Blink / ODL blinds-between-glass available on Double-Hung Replacement Kits?

No. CLiC glass and Blink / ODL blinds-between-glass are not offered on Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits. For this product, specialty glass should be reviewed around available insulated glass, LoĒ glass, laminated glass, tempered glass, and obscure glass options.

    Grilles

    What grille options are available?

Available grille options include internal grilles between the glass, simulated divided lite (SDL) grilles, and interior removable wood grilles where available. Grille type, pattern, color, glass package, and sash size should be reviewed before ordering.

Can SDL grilles include an internal grille between the glass?

No. When SDL grilles are used on Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits, only exterior and interior applied grilles are used. An internal grille between the glass is not available with SDL grilles on this product.

Do SDL grilles change the glass package?

Yes. SDL grilles require the insulated glass unit to change from a 3/4" overall IGU to a 5/8" overall IGU. This should be reviewed before ordering because it may affect configuration, availability, and project requirements.

    Colors and Finishes

    What exterior colors are available?

Standard exterior color options are available for Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits. Color selection should be reviewed with the existing frame, exterior trim, interior finish, project requirements, and available glazing bead limitations before ordering.

Review the Colors section for color galleries and notes.

Are matching glazing beads available in every color?

No. Exterior matching glazing bead is available in White, Almond, Beige, Dark Bronze, and Black only. If another standard exterior color is selected, the glazing bead must be selected in an unmatched finish.

Can custom exterior colors be quoted?

For volume orders, custom exterior colors with matching glazing beads may be quoted by project review. Availability, minimum quantities, lead times, pricing, and final color approval must be confirmed before ordering.

Are interior prefinished wood colors available?

Yes. Interior prefinished wood colors are available for projects requiring factory-finished interiors. Physical samples should be reviewed when color accuracy is critical.

Screens, Storm Windows, and Related Performance Options

    Can replacement screens be ordered?

Made-to-order screens can be reviewed to replace existing screens where needed. Screens are separate from the replacement kit and should be reviewed based on the existing opening, screen fit, and project requirements.

Can Double-Hung Replacement Kits be paired with storm windows?

Yes. Casco Double-Hung Replacement Kits can be paired with Casco aluminum storm windows when the project needs an added secondary window layer, additional exterior protection, improved comfort, sound reduction, or a more complete upgrade without full-frame replacement.

Storm windows are selected separately and should be reviewed based on the existing exterior opening, sill condition, drainage path, mounting surface, sound-control goals, and project requirements. Review Casco Aluminum Storm Windows for available storm window models and options.

    Warranty and Responsibility

What warranty applies to Double-Hung Replacement Kits?

Warranty coverage applies to the replacement kit components as provided by Casco, including applicable insulating glass warranty coverage where applicable. Warranty coverage does not guarantee that an existing frame is suitable, that the kit was measured correctly, or that the installed sash-to-frame fit will perform properly after installation.

Who is responsible for the sash-to-frame fit after installation?

The installing party is responsible for confirming the fit, seal, installation method, adjustment, and final operation of the replacement kit within the existing frame. Casco does not cover air or water performance issues caused by existing frame condition, incorrect measurements, improper installation, or field conditions outside of the supplied sash-kit components.

What should be reviewed if the existing frame cannot be reused?

If the existing frame cannot be reused, review Casco Aluminum-Clad Double-Hung Windows as a complete window-unit replacement option.

What product should be reviewed for casement, awning, or picture sash-only replacement?

For compatible casement, awning, or picture sash-only applications, review Casco Replacement Casement Sashes.
